The Village of Corrales is currently accepting applications for the position of Lifeguards with the Parks and Recreation Department. The lifeguard monitor activities and ensures the safety of swimmers and aquatic facilities, responding to emergency situations. Lifeguards participate in swimming pool/facility safety and maintenance activities. Desired minimum qualifications are completed Freshman year in High School, must be 15 years of age and be able to swim 150 yards consistently of freestyle and breaststroke, tread water for two minutes only using legs and then swim another 50 yards in freestyle or breaststroke and swim 20 yards to retrieve a ten pound object at a minimum depth of 7 to 10 feet and return it 20 yards back to starting point. American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification; and Lifeguard training certificates required prior to being hired.
